The ADT contract is set to expire next year. To collect information on the use of this service, the below survey has been prepared.
There is a proposal from ADT to upgrade the existing equipment. There is a competing proposal from Vector Security to install its own system. The details of each are outlined below.
The current rate for ADT is $19.47 per unit, per month.
ADT UPGRADE PROPOSAL:
ADT will replace the existing security system control panel and keypads in each residence, and add a wireless receiver and a keyfob for arm/disarm/panic. The new systems will include cellular communication so a phone line is not needed AND an app to control the system remotely on a smart device or PC as though you were standing in front of the keypad. The new equipment and services include:
- 1 ADT Safewatch Pro 3000 Security Control Panel
- 1 Wireless Receiver for radio frequency capabilities. This allows for easy expansion of the system by adding wireless devices
- Up to 2 Fixed English LCD Keypads with panic alarms for police and fire, to replace existing keypads
- 1 Long-life Standby Battery
- 1 Keyfob programmed for arm, disarm and panic
- 1 Alarm.com Cellular Communicator (communication & remote)
- Alarm.com Interactive Services to control system remotely
The pricing options from ADT are relative to the term of the agreement:
- 5 year – $20.49 per unit, per month
- 7 year – $18.99 per unit, per month
- 10 year – $17.99 per unit, per month
VECTOR SECURITY PROPOSAL:
Vector will install a control panel and keypad in each residence. It will utilize cellular communication so a phone line is not needed. It will include remote arm/disarm capability, real-time alerts and notifications, and an app to control the system remotely on a smart device or PC as though you were standing in front of the keypad. The equipment and services include:
- 1 Q2 Control Main Unit
- 1 Q2 Control Keypad
- 1 Motion Detector
- 3 Door Sensors
- 1 GSM Cell Communicator
- 1 Outdoor Camera
The pricing options from Vector Security are relative to the term of the agreement:
- 7 year – $22.00 per unit, per month
- 10 year – $19.99 per unit, per month
